Overview

As a Traveling Construction Laborer (Geohazard Mitigation Technician, or GMT) working for GSI, there is no typical day and the scenery changes often. You will be working outside with your hands in a wide variety of climates. You will be laborer working aside experienced technicians measuring, drilling,  mixing concrete, and creating sustainable infrastructure. Qualifications

What You Need to Bring

  • Any prior soil stabilization, grouting, or foundation mitigation experience OR
  • Prior construction industry experience as a carpenter or framer for example OR
  • Prior concrete experience such as a concrete finisher/form builder or shotcrete experience
  • Must not be afraid of heights
  • A CDL Class A or a clean Motor Vehicle Driving Record
  • The ability to travel at least 3 weeks out of every month
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to get along with a diverse group of people 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) Certification
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) Certification
  • Ground Disturbance Level 1 or 2

  • Move materials on a construction site
  • Mix, spray, run hoses, and operate shotcrete or grouting pumps
  • Operate rock drills
  • Operate construction equipment such as excavator, all terrain forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, and front end loaders
  • Reading and determining measurements
  • Maintain a clean and organized construction site
  • Working together in a team environment
